Two Startup Problems/Errors

Hey,

I have joined this forum to request some advice for a problem or maybe an ever which occurs whilst my computer loads. It's nothing crucial but I'm a perfectionist :).

The first problem is that ever since I purchased a larger monitor, the boot screen has become pixelated and doesn't fit within the 19 inches provided by the monitor.

Is there anyway to depixelate this or at least configure it's resolution so that it fits my monitor?

The second problem:
After the boot screen you usually get a black screen for a few seconds and then your cursor appears slap bang in the middle of the screen, yeah? Ever since one or maybe two weeks ago the length for which this screen appears has increased significantly. It's gone from roughly about 3 seconds to 10-20 seconds. However, sometimes there is no problem and it only takes the usual 3-5 seconds to move on from this screen.

Perhaps there's a setting to solve this?

Please let me know if you have any solutions to my problems.

Many Thanks,
Oli

Your problems aren't really anything to worry about, your computer's taking longer to start up, try running a virus scan or defragging your hard-drive. Small things like that can help speed it up.

I wouldn't worry about the pixalated boot up screen either, it just happens, it isn't a very good resolution picture, it was probably made for a 15" or 17" monitor, around the time XP came out.
