Two Sticks or Four?

Im making my component list for a computer I'm bout to start building and i was wondering if there is anywhere that has tested to see the performance difference between two sticks of 2GB pc 8500 or four sticks of 1Gb 8500 DDR2...

Unless the memory controller can't handle 4 sticks too well (in which case it'll probably have to loosen up on timings/speed, but AFAIK this is extremely rare and even less likely when using identical sticks, and even if this happened usually manually setting speeds/timings usually fixes it), there's going to be no performance difference.
