Type of connection to TV Monitor?

Hi! I'm about to buy a tv that will occasionally be used as a second monitor for my laptop and I was trying to figure out what the best connection would be. For a while i had thought VGA was my only option, but then i realized that i have an S-Video out on my laptop as well. Will this give me better quality than the VGA?

Also, will either of these output audio to the TV (or is there a way of doing so), or will i have to resort to using computer speakers.

Avoid S-Video at all costs if possible. You're basically limited to about 720x480(standard definition)

Audio will not be sent though VGA or S-Video. You can get converters and spliters if you want to go from headphone to RCA, or just resort to your speakers.
