Ubuntu 11.04 Run help?

I just installed Ubuntu 11.04 to a USB drive, I went into Bios, set it up to run the sandisk first and it was up and everything, but when I chose run from usb it beeped and said auto starting in 5 seconds or whatever but when the counter went to zero it beeped again and the timer went up to 5 seconds again, repeat, repeat, repeat. Does anyone know what's wrong? Should I install it to a cd and try that instead?
 
a relevent comment, Ubuntu 11.04 has bugs. I upgraded from 10.10 download and got multiple bugs. Since I'm dual booted with windows 7 it gets complicted. I'm going back to 10.10 to give the debian folks a chance to work out the bugs.
