Ubuntu 12.04

Swar-Black-base-blue.
I am also using custom transparency settings and Xubuntu Icon pack
I tried green as well, green was better except I wasn't able to figure out how to change the chromium's top bar's color from ugly green to proper nvidia green.

I tried to install that theme and I ended up breaking Unity. Had to spend some time getting it reinstalled and configured properly. How did you get it working?

First add the theme creator's website as one of the repositories and then do a sudo apt-get install swar-black-base
and then install gnome-tweak-tool and set the theme.

I'll have to give that a try. Thanks.

Edit: Got it working. Looks really nice. I used the green one and I too got the nasty green bar but I installed the Slinky elegant theme for Chrome and it fits really well.

Hope that gets you what you were looking for

So I just got an update installed that let me choose Gnome/Gnome Classic/Gnome Classic No Effects/Ubuntu/Ubuntu 2D from the login menu. It is still not quite as customizable as it was back in the 10.04 days but I have my application menu back :D

Thanks! I am looking into it right now.

Since the debacle that was 11.04, I am leery of making too many changes in Unity-- I don't want to break my install again.

I messed up my unity twice in this process, did not take much. Just reset compiz and unity
Code:
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/compiz-1 && unity --reset

And then do the settings again except this time don't take it as far as you took them the last time which cracked unity.

I think what I did wrong last time was individual wallpapers on each desktop (I really wish they would allow that...) combined with turning on Ubuntu One.

NOT going to turn One on this time, for sure, and I will live with homogenous desktops for the time being...

I upgraded my 11.10 to 12.04 two days ago, using the update manager.
It works really fast and smooth - when it works.
It freezes occasionally, nothing fixes that but hard reboot. It happens every few hours, with no specific reason.
My hardware is i2500 on Intel MB, no graphic card.
Did anyone experienced something similar?

I've only seen two crashes, one which may be Wine-related.

I'm dealing with the blank-screen breaking the windows when I resume, and the automounter dying.
