Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop Edition ?

WhaT you guys think of, Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop Edition?

Will i be able to Install Adobe Acrobat Reader on it?

cause i have a Huge library of Pdfs in music sheet format for my Music Digital Display.Thanks in advance, also can make An ISO of Ubuntu on a RW Cd

Yes you can use a RW CD, my question is why 8.10? 8.04 was the LTS for that time and I agree with wolfeking 10.04 would be the oldest to go. What is your hardware you are trying to run this on? If you are running a 1 Ghz single core and 1 GB of memory then run 10.04 but if you have anything more powerful then that I would run 12.04 LTS.

If you have hardware older then then what I listed do not run 8.10, I would try a different Linux distro that is more current and supported.
 
Hi Guys i was able to Download successfully LinuxMint and have all my music sheet in pdfs wright on desktop and i can say that it works great,what you can ask more for free.I'm on the learning curve now.all i miss now is a linux based foot switch pedal to page down and up the page, like the on the link
but it says on the instructions that is linux compatible but win software.

does this means i can change the key in a win machine then use it on linux. or i can't use this at all for want to use it.thanks

Hi Guys, New Update on foot SW pedal,i have here connected to my other machine a 3 way foot switch pedal that i've been using for a long time it has a win CD software,now i thought of connecting it to the lenovo linux mint based and for my surprise it pages up and down the pages, lucky me i did not order other pedal,what a good day and i-m so happy that i got this free linux mint ops.
