Ubuntu 9.10 Thoughts

What do you guys think of Ubuntu 9.10?

So far I am liking it, I am running it in a VM but I think my next computer at work is going to dual-boot XP and 9.10. Anyway, I like the new software manager, and the graphical boot makes it more friendly. I can say that, I am used to running my servers at work with no UI. Haha. I just wanted to know everyone else's thoughts.
 
I like it, but I think they need to be upgrading more in their new versions and maybe come out with new releases a little less frequently as they always seem to be in a rush trying to get it finished on time.

All that the end user notices as being different in this release are the software center, the icons, bootup screen, login screen, some minor parts of the GTK theme, faster bootup and shutdown (maybe), and empathy. That's not much of an upgrade imho, but then I guess they're working on all the inter-workings of the OS, still though, it'd be better if they took more time when making the new versions.
 
Yeah, they've been bad for releases like that. I wish they'd make some type of Debian/Ubuntu-only scripting system. I like to run little automated scripts, and I do with my Mac, but I'd like to see it in Ubuntu without having to use Bash. I use Bash for all of my scripts right now, aside from a few Python scripts and management programs I have written in C++. I really want to see more in Ubuntu. I'd like to use Ubuntu Server, but it just seems that things like Mailman work so much snappier on a CentOS server.

I was trying with Fedora lately at work, and it seems like Fedora is getting crappier. I am running CentOS on all of my servers and I like it. I think CentOS is going to take over the 'rehashed' RHEL department.
 
I really like the way ubuntu works and feels. like all the cube and fancy effects are nice eye candy. my system has been getting some errors from it though so i havent been able to use it much :(
 
hated it, nothing worked for me, 9.04 was fine, went to 9.10 and couldnt even download programes etc

lost patience

i went to ubuntu as i hated vista... now gone to XP
 
i like the new ubuntu, i find it to be a lil more faster than the last version. I do hope they make more changes in the next release.

I have it dual booted with my windows 7 ultimate. And Its been almost a month since i booted 7.

This is open source at its best.
