Ubuntu anti-virus?

does anyone know of an av for ubuntu(linux distro)? My internet pc's been actin' weird and i'd like to see if i'm infected..

i didn't think you would need anti virus for Ubuntu cos most people make viruses for windows lol.

Well considering most people use windows there is a bit of fact in what you say, but you misunderstand why people dont often see virii in ubuntu.. erm..well here would come the techy jargon if i could just remember it.. Damn! a virus needs to get root access to actually be able to cause damage but even if it cant that doesnt mean virus's don't appear. Linux was engineered with safety in mind so it does it very well.

im almost positive there is an avast for linux, though i dont have it yet. If you cant figure it out, let me know and i will tell you how.

If you go to the add/remove program in the app list, You will fine a anti-virus program if you search for it.

I've tried the add remove av but it gave me some problems.. and thanks i'll try avast!

u can get avg for linux

I tried avg too.. i couldnt get the damn thing to work! but maybe avast will.
