Does Ubuntu 10.9 support SATA 2. Speeds????

What I measn is if I install Ubuntu 10.9 and go to copy file from my one sata 2. drive to my other sata 2 drive will it move the Data at the sata 2. speed??????
Or will I have to do something to Ubuntu?

Short answer, yes.

the file transfer speeds are limited by your hard drive not the os. I would guess someplace around 50~70Mb/s. You do not have to do anything to for it to read at that speed.

I aslk because I have win xp pro 32 Bit and I use an ECS Motherboard.

And ECS Motherboard sees my SATA Drive as iDE. And ECS told me that when I installed win xp I sould have Installed the RAID drivers.

And I told them I do not want to run any RAID I just want to get the sata 2. speeds for my Dada Tranfer.

And they told me you can setup what is called a RAID Ready but it has to bet setup at win installation.

I never herd of this??????????????????????
