Ubuntu Install

I downloaded the .deb file for Yahoo Messenger in Ubuntu, I used the package installer to try and install it, I got this far. Can anyone help out here?

Thanks

are you using AMD64? or just the X86 version? i have had some problems with my AMD64 version and program compatibility.

thats a common problem with linux, it can't find all the dependencies....

open up your terminal and type this code and see if it works better

Code:
sudo apt-get ymessenger

You'll be prompted for your log in password, type it in and see if that works.

i think yahoo messenger has issues with ubuntu. try gaim or pidgin whatever the name
all the debs i used never work so i downloaded an rpm and used
alien to convert it, it work but it didn't make an entry in the menu, i had to look for it in the system

what does that say about ubuntu's package manager? If you can't install the debian package, .DEB, but you can install a redhat package using alien .rpm, what does that say about the package manager?
