Ubuntu VirtualBox on Windows 8

I want to install Ubuntu via VirtualBox on my primary OS, Windows 8. I have two HDD's, a 1TB primary and a 500GB slave. If I were to put install Ubuntu on VirtualBox off my slave, would I run into issues, or would I be better off installing it on my primary? Thanks!

You won't encounter any issues. Anything you do won't affect Windows 8 because it's a virtual machine.

I'd put the virtual drive on your secondary drive though to prevent head thrashing and speed loss of your primary drive.

If your CPU supports it, make sure virtualisation is enabled in your BIOS too.

That way, if you have a 64-bit host OS (so if your Windows 8.1 is 64-bit), you can install 64-bit guest OSes too (so you could install a 64-bit Ubuntu in VirtualBox).
