I cannot get my ubuntu to connect to my wireless network. I have tried everything from turning off my wireless security to this and now i just cannot get it to connect any suggestions? I would like to use ubuntu on my laptop but i'm gonna stick with xp until it will connect...

Make sure you have the Linux driver and firmware installed, and if all else fails look into running the ndis wrapper for the wifi card. Unfortunately, wireless support on Linux can be a pain because no one allows access to their driver's source code or even releases the specs so developers who write open source drivers are kind of just in the dark and guessing how it should work.
