Uh, here we go again, COD4 crashes

Wow, I"m REALLY starting to dislike Win7 :(

I installed COD4: MW1, and guess what? Multiplayer crashes the second it loads. A screen comes up saying "Windows had to close the program, and will notify you when it found a solution"

Funny thing is, Singleplayer works fine, perfectly fine. Just multiplayer does NOT.

I don't think it's the install disc, as I have installed it 3X's in the last 3 weeks (been changing boxes) with no problems.

Just chalk up another fail for Win7 at this time :( I really hope I can get these bugs fixed, cause I really like Win7.

Here is my setup:

Intel Duo Core @ 2.00Ghz
2GB DDR2 RAM
660GB HDD
HIS Radeon 3870HD

Any ideas?

I don't think it is up to Windows 7. I'm playing CoD4 on Quad Q9650 on Windows 7 and it works perfectly fine.

Install latest patches and drivers

And if you don't want it to crash don't play it!! :D

I dont think it's Windows 7 neither. I'm playing on it and i have no problems at all. Try to install the latest patches and if that doesnt help, uninstall the game then install it again and patch it.

Same here win7 no crashes in mp or sp.

There is a sound setting in control panel that can be changed and stops most crashes in cod4 and cod waw. When I get on a computer I will find it and post it up if someone else doesn't now I have said that

go to start>control panel>sound

play something like music or a video and see which playback device changes levels. right click that one and click properties, then the advanced tab.

I am fairly sure it is either 24 bit 48000 or 96000 that it should be on to fix it. Hope that helps :)
