Uh oh, what is up with my monitor, please help

Power surge fried my computer, when I went to hook up new one the data only filled the screeen like old fashioned tv or 3:4 aspect...

Not widescreen, we went into settings and cant seem to find the right one to get the entire screen filled up, what are we doing wrong?

New computer has new hi def capabilities and so on so not sure what is up..

Try updating the video driver. Or possibly you need to go into the monitor settings itself and extend the screen. do you have a menu button on the monitor? Look for the icon to change the screen size from left to right and top to bottom.
