So i left my comp on overnite because i was dling something and my dad doesnt want my comp on overnite so me being "Smart and Slick" i decided to disconnect my led side window fan and open the side a little bit. After about 20 mins my comp shuts down for no reason i go over and i can feel immense amount of heat coming from my computer and smell like a burnt plastic smell. so i called up AMD and they authorized my a RMA. What do you guys think they will honor their warranty to me. there wasnt any visible damage on the processor or bent pins. iam not even sure if it was the processor but iam pretty sure since the comp just turned off.
Please let me know thankz/

If there was a burnt plastic smell then it was either a wire, mobo, or a fan that started to burn. Are you sure you didn't disconnect any other fans? Because disconnecting just one fan shouldn't screw up your computer unless your case has some very restricted airflow. Also, your computer probably turned off because the CPU became too hot so it shut itself to prevent anymore damage.

if one side fan being stopped causes your CPU to overheat, or your system to be unstable...you need to look into more effective cooling.

yea i agree does your case have any extra ventilation? i would think the PSU would burn out before anything else, being another HOT component, and being at the top of the case.

you sure you didnt unplug anything else?

Just double checking... You didnt unplug the cpu fan on accident did you? If you didnt, then most likely the problem isnt with the cpu, it's with another piece of hardware. So your going to get a new cpu and its not giong to get you anywhere.
