Help.. Heres the story, My dvd drive in my current computer never worked.. So finally i bought a game that needed my dvd reader to upload it on to my computer. So I went out and bought a Asus dvd-cd rw/reader and just took out the old one and just put in the new one.. i didn't connect any other wires.. I made sure to ground myself out and i made sure that i fully connected all the parts. However right after I did this I tried to turn on my computer and it came to a screen that told me to push f2 for setup.. of course i did this and it took my directly to my bios. Of course i made sure the boot order was correct and my master/slave's were all in order.. i restarted the computer and now i'm left with unable to find boot device.. I went into the bios and it no longer can detect anything.. my hard drive, my cd drive.. even my floppy drive is gone :|. what the heck happened! If you need any more info just ask! On g/f's laptop need help!

only idea that springs to mind is your boot sequence if your boot sequence is DVD first it may not reconize the new Hardware try changing the Boot to HDD

lol yes it was set to cd rom drive first but i had changed that a while back due to having to format. But is changed it back and it still says unable to find boot device :|.

If this is a IDE DVD burner did you set the jumpers right (M/S) on the back of the drive? If there is 2 drives on the cable, the one at the end needs to be set to Master, the one in the middle set to Slave.
