can anyone name me a good uk isp as im with bt and they arent very good. also the cheaper the better.i think i would like to be with a more independent isp. thanks :D

Blueyonder Boradband is quite good.

Its relieable and never had a problem with customer support when you need them.

Yeah it takes like 2 hours to get through to them on the phone but overall the service is quite good.

sounds good. i'll check em out. but bt is terrible its really really bad. so slow and expensive as well. my gf has telewest and thats pretty cool but thats the whole television package and i just want an isp. thanks man!

we have plusnet and it is £14.99 a month for up to 8 meg broadband with 4gb d/load limit in peak time and up to 50gb limit non peak.

it is a pretty good deal

edit:
wooooooooooo my 100th post! :D now a silver member o yeh

I'd say orange, i never used to think of them as any good, although after using other peoples tiscali connections that were "2.3 meg" and getting download dpeeds equivalent to that of just 0.5 meg i was rather unimpressed, when on my 1 meg (soon to be 2.5 :D ) connection i always get the full speed, 120 kb/sec it only drops if downloading from a slow server. They have an unlimited package for £19.99 I think, although it is more expensive than tiscali etc. i would say it is definately worth it because of the quality of the connection

Also if you have a mobile contract with orange above a certain amount you get it free, and they give you a wireless router

haha thats what im using and they are really, really bad i actually hate being with them. its mad. im just looking for something that is independent and cheap! :-)

Don't know where you live but I use Karoo the independent provider in East Yorkshire owned by Kingston Communications. Outside of this area they also provide BT customers using ECLIPSE, a part of Kingston Communications.

I've used them for 5 years and never had a fall out yet:)
