lol, this is old news man, its not gonna happen either, the isps have told them thats its extremely inpractical to try and monitor everyone, they compared it to the royal mail trying to track every single letter and parcel they deliver. I dont think you've got anything to worry about :D

oh ok but i heard in web user mag that it could be possible to track eveyone

What are they going to do, monitor every single Internet user? Sniff every packet of info and compare it to a database? Intercept every person's traffic to see what it says? Good luck on that!

There are too many P2P clients and torrent websites to monitor now.
They would have to add new websites be added to their database(if they are going to make the comparison) almost every day.
Does that seem possible?

I highly doubt this will stop people from downloading,I think that ISPs will target the people who are uploading alot of stuff if they are forced too by law and if they see they have been uploading copyrighted stuff such as music, movies etc then report them to the police and shut down their tinternet or something.

but like the above posts says its impossible for them to monitor everyone,Isps dont realy care aslong as you pay for your service.

Yes it is possible to track everyone down (unless your protected)

Hello let me explain how they monitor us. Has anyone ever been in Cam Frog Version 4.1? if not they have a multiple view cam section where you can view more then one web cam.

Now we all have an Internal Address which is our computer address known as IP. Lets say i am with Virgin Media Internet and your with AOL we join either one of them and they give us our external ip address which is what we use to connect to the internet. But theres the internal ip address which we need to allow us to go online because there has to be a two way connection something has to give. They have this software and in this software it has all the available isp servers and lets name a few isp servers, virgin, aol, bt and so on it goes on and on and on now in there software it has like links and stuff with drop down menus so for example AOL has got an internal ip address which is what they really want, and an external, they connect to both external and internal addresses and our addresses will be shown in there software in a drop down menu they have once they are connected and there software can do multiple tasks like take snap shots of every uses computer and monitor you it does it per second with per user. The software is like a human recognition software or a computer recognition. There software is powerful and its the greatest software ever, i know they have this but im trying to find and it use it myself. SO lets say i want to connect to LimeWire i connect to Lime Wire Sever and these people who want to monitor to us are also connected to Lime Wire once im connected there software will take snap shots, monitor me per second and if you type in anything illegal in Lime Wire there software can and will recognize what im typing in next to my user name and internal and external ip address a green or red light will flash telling the people that i am typing in illegal words because there software has a search filter which is different to other filters this one detects what we are typing that is not allowed and they click on us and print everything on the snap shots of and send it to the US Courts i dont know which court it is but its one of them. Then what they do is give you a bad name in the FBI headquarters security they have profiles of us all when we perform illegal online acitivies and then they have meetings about you to decide what they want to do with you and when they want and they set a date and time to arrest you and it goes on and on and on.

That is how it all works so sorry if it didnt make sense to you and if i was going on way to much into depth but thats what they do and can do.

dude this just wont happen,i got a pc mag today and (Micro mart) and Isps have said they do not want to be doing this because it would take way too much time, they wouldnt be able to monitor everyones connection as it would cost them a furtune to employ people to go through peoples browsing habbits all day.

and to answer your question quoted above...no they cant tell what you have on your pc.
p2p software is legal anyway my friend,Its just the downloading of illegal copyrighted downloads that breaks the law.

but is it possible?

In theory? Of course it's possible. But imagine the computing power needed to do this and not have computer users who don't know they're being monitored not notice a hit in data transfer speed or time. Heck, even using the Tor system slows you way down, and that's just proxy servers.
