Un-Partitioning

A while back I split the partition on my main hard drive, so when I reinstall, I get to keep all of my music. I realized that all of the music I have is utter crap, so would like to un-split the partition.
I'm afraid the only safe way I'll be able to do this is by reinstalling Windows and totally getting rid of the partition, which is a possibility.
Any help?

You can try using Partition Magic but it has been known to cause problems afterwards. Its always best to do a fresh install anyways.

As long as you run windows vista, you can use disk manager. Right click my computer, hit "manage". Then click on Disk Management under storage. Go down to the hard drive with the partition you want to delete, right click on the partition and hit delete. Then right click on the main partition, and choose "extend", and extend it to the end of the drive. Please bear in mind this only works if your windows partition is the first partition, if the partition you want to delete is in the front of the drive then you would need to reinstall windows;)

I split with partition magic but haven't merged back together yet. A little nervous TBH. ;) (there was a little error when I split but it turned out fine)

But I'd say your best bet is to back up everything you want to keep (onto one of those IDEs) and try partition magic.

There are two possible outcomes:

a) It works.

b) It doesnt work and you can just reinstall and still have all your stuff since you backed it up.

Your hard drive is like a pie, once your slice (partition) it, it's hard to put it back together. Just think, once you cut that pie, is it really possible to make it fully whole again?

Where does reinstalling come into this simile? Does reinstalling magically fuse the pieces together? Or is a new pie just completely created?

It sounds a little to sketchy to try Partition Magic, and since I was planning on reinstalling anyway, may as well use this excuse to do so.
