Unable to clear cmos, can not reset to default settings.
i have a Compaq SFF desktop with a known working Win 2K OS. problem is with forgotten or confused password not allowing logon.
i have tried switching the cmos jumper and also removing and resetting the battery. each time i went into setup and reset to the default settings. it continues to start with a message that the time and date are not set. then a choice of F1 Boot which takes me to the logon screen.
i decided to reinstall the OS but the same routine about the date and time thing and the boot to logon continues in spite of boot sequence of CDROM, Diskette, H.D. i have both the CDROM Install disk and the set of 4 floppys. both are ignored by boot process....
