Unable to copy and paste

About a week ago, I tried to copy and paste and started getting the following message.

"Microsoft word" The information you copied exceeds the size limit for printing into word processor. Try reducing the size of your selection and then copy and paste"

I'm not able to even copy and paste a single sentance. Any thoughts?

Thanks Bob, I have Vista and cannot seem to find anything in that system similar to the fix you gave me for XP.
