Unable To Init Shader System

Well, basically my problem is that when I try to play Counter-Strike: Source I get a "Unable to Init Shader System" message and I cannot start CS:S. Any ideas on what to do to fix this? I have never experienced this before so I'm completely lost on what to do...

Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB IIRC. I've been playing Source since it came out and I've never had this problem.

Try updating/reinstalling Catalyst drivers. Maybe they became corrupted somehow.
