Unable to open folders

when i now try to open most folders that aren't windows default (ie. Mydoc/mycomp) i get this error.

and then when i click "don't send" i get this one...

i have also tried the debug option, but to no avail.

this is REALLLLY a problem and is limiting my computer use BIGTIME. so if anyone knows how to fix, pls tell.

right-click my computer go to properties-->"advance" tab-->settigns for performace-->data execution prevention tab

but then again you'd have to see to any viruses

ok i have two options once i get there. but no option to actually turn it OFF. so...now what?

have you tried using the second option "programs and services you select" but dont put any programs jut click apply then ok..

i left the "explorer" selected. i'll try again with out it. and restart comp. thanks for idea.

well ive tried all three options, and they don't seem to make a differance.

if ANYONE has an idea pls let me know, this is a BIG problem

what xp is this ? SP2 ?..try repairing your OS installation. not really a good idea but maybe it can sort out..you never know.

or are you just going down with viruses ?

Not sure if it would help, but you might try updating windows in case there is some bug out there causing your problems. You can find it here: Windows Update

Windows explorer gives problem when there are cross linked files.

Download this freeware file manager:

www.freeCommander.com

You can go to any folder including the 'Recycled'.
It has many other extra features. Click on the menu items.
