Unallocated space issue

Hi. I got a blank 250 gb hd for my older desktop computer and sometime last year I installed xp and such onto it. It freezes for a few minutes on start up but other than that works fine. Problem is I tried to move like 25gb of files onto it and it said not enough space. When I partitioned it I left 10 gb for installing windows and such and the rest for everything else...or something to that effect. Hopefully you know what I mean. But now it just recognizes that 10gb as drive C and I can't seem to use the rest. How can I use the rest?

thanks in advance.

Right click on my computer-manage- disk management.
There u should see the rest of the space as unallocated. Right click on the unallocated space, and create a new partition. Then u will be able to use it.
