If you're underclocking to make it not overheat, get a better cooler. Also, how do you know that it's going to overheat? Are the temperatures high? List your idle/load temps here and we'll tell you if you want.

i just wanna add that reducing the frequency of the CPU doesnt really help that much in the heat issue, i tried it before

well its like this

during daytime or sometimes night time cuz it be hot then too i be trying to play need for speed underground two on my pc and when i play it i cant play it but 10 minutes and then the proccessor temp jumps from like 53 to like 65 70

and if i get a ddr3 video card you think that may help the processor be cool? you think its straining itself or something?

go to the BIOS
and set the temp alarm to 80 degrees
my average temp is around 50-55 and 60-70 under stress
and i didnt have any problems (yet) :D

k

i set the intel active monitory the thing that usually would beep when i got to 65 68 degrees i set it to beep at 78 degrees so it doesnt beep anymore.

but is 65 ok to run a game on on a intel cpu?

cuz playing need for speed underground now that i set my fans up a certain way and got the back fan blowing in and the front fan blowing out and the side fan blowing out it keeps it cooler a lil bit so the highest nfs underground 2 goes is 65 degrees about.
