Unidentified Network...

I just got this Encore Internal Wireless Adapter for my upstairs build, and the driver software connects me to the WiFi we have running around our house. But when I go to the Control Panel's Networking section, it says it's "Identifying" the network and after about half an hour it just gives up and says UnIdentified Network.
So I figured that there wasn't a network set up, so I tried to set one up with the downstairs home computer and it told me to type some computer description, network descriptions, network names, etc... and then made me burn a disc with some sort of software that it said only XP had. So I rebooted the downstairs computer, downloaded the software and I found it was the same software I just downloaded... so I figured it was supposed to go on the UPSTAIRS computer.
I put the CD in the computer, downloaded the software and it gave me an error, so I tried again, still errors...

HELP!! I WANT TO PLAY SOME GAMES ON THE INTERNET!

I think you are talking about Start > Run > NetSetup
Which will allow you to create a network disk once finished
If not, then run it anyway, and then take the disk to the other computer and run it there too.

Also here is the wireless wizard setup.
Start > Run > rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL NetSetup.cpl,@0,WNSW

So I run that, and it downloads software for a network?

Also, the computer running XP says that XP only has the network software, but I seriously think Vista has it somewhere.

I'm waiting for you to confirm what happened when running the network wizards
Please also note you can connect the computers directly to ethernet cables to the router, just to confirm its not a wireless issue (hardware and/or software config)

I wish I had an extra wired router, but to connect mine directly, I'd need to get a mile-long ethernet cable and route it through like 3 floors...

I'll try your post sometime, but it's really hard going from house to house in my situation.
