Hi

I noticed a file/programme by the name of "utorrent" with Publisher name as "bit torrent inc". Wanted to uninstall it but was denied with message "you do not have sufficient access to utorrent. Please contact your system administrator".

I suspect this could be a malware or at least an unwanted file which I do not want to have it in the system.

Anyone can advise how to remove this?

Many thanks.

You need an administrator's account to install and uninstall software. Are you the only user of this machine?

uTorrent in itself isn't malware or even an unwanted program. It's just software to manage downloads of torrents, which are frequently but not always pirated material like TV shows, movies, games, etc. These downloads can give you viruses but uTorrent just being installed will not. Feel free to remove it once you've gotten access to an admin account.

Hi Darren, thanks.

this is my personal PC and did not establish a administration account.

I was doing housekeeping and uninstalled other programme without issue but only encounter with this "utorrent" which prompted me with the message. Andy idea to remove this "utorrent"?

Hi,
installed revo Uninstaller but still unable to remove the "utorrent".
The message appears when I tried to uninstall

"Running the application uninstaller failed. Possible invalid uninstall command"

It will appear because it tries using the programs own uninstaller before revo starts scanning for files and folders. Close out of the other and you should be able to click on scan in revo and uninstall it.
