uninstalling PSU in Acer AM5100 desktop black tower

i have problem.. i dont know how to unplug the wire that attach to the hard drive. it looks confusing. it has two sid eof wires on the head. i dont know how to explain. does anyone familiar with acer am5100 desktop?



nevermind got it.



now its the fan. how do i unplug the wire that attach to the fan? the wire is all the way inside the fan i cant see anything.


omg help! i took the fan out and turns out that the wire is permanently attach to the fan and psu! help! the fan is attach to the psu!

Is the harddrive sata or ide? If it's IDE the power connector should just pull right out, if it's sata there's a little tab on the power connector that you'll have to squeeze before you can pull it out.

i have no idea if its sata or not. but i had to squeeze it to get it out.


i have new problem... it turns out that the fan thats on the back of the computer case is permanently attached to the psu. im switching this psu to the other computer and the other computer psu to this computer.

how do i disattach the fan from the psu? sinc ethe other computer already has a fan... when i install the psu.... where the fan that attach to it gonna go? ill be stuck.

Huh, I've never heard of that... you could cut the wire, and then put an end on it and plug it into the motherboard.
 
why not jsut cut the wires and reattach them to the new fan connector via a butt connector
or bettter yet a bullet connector so you may remove the fan as needed when it fails or needs replacing

secondly take a picture of the powersupply there is somethign you have to be missing they would not make a fan straight wired to the powersupply unless it was INSIDE the powersupply casing not trying to call you dumb jsut saying ive overlooked 328490902 things before ahah

but if it indeed is wired straight into the PS then jsut go to the hardware store by crimpers and strippers (or you may use aparr of sharp scissors and cut the wires expose the wire about 1/8th inch using a razor to cut away the insulation)
then buying 2 male 2 female bullet connectors and attaching them hot and ground to the other fan

I'd have to second his idea but would definitely say it would be better to take the PSU and fans out of the case, take a picture of what you have, and post it up here.
