Unistalling XP updates

yes you need the updates for security
and if you want to stop windows from downloading updates automatically
just goto control panel
system>automatic updates
and turn it off
but i don't recommend that

so its always best just to get the updates and DL them? :D

yea
you might wanna set the time for automatic update to anytime during sleeping
so it doesn't bother you with eating bandwidth or something
however it's supposed to work on idle connection time
