Universal stream player

I was looking for a universal stream player to replace my winamp(.pls...), windows media player(.asx...)...
My first choice would be media player classic, but does it support streaming?
What other players would you recommend(players with advanced technics like screen zooning, aspect ratio...)

I would also suggest Media Player Classic. I'm quite sure it supports streaming, but I have had some issues with such in the past. Also, I assume you have confirmed it supports pls? I can't recall if it does right off.

So the problem is that i cant find a way to configure it to stream.
Do you know how to do that?

check out VLC never tried streaming with it but I am pretty sure you can.

yeah, i tried VLC but i would rather play through media player classic, do you know how i can configure it to play streams?
Btw can you strech the image with hotkeys using VLC like you can on media player classic?
Do you have any idea how to do that?
