unknown computer problem

hi

i have a desktop with an asrock p4vt8+ motherboard
and a p4 3.0ghz processor

i am having a problem with my computer. i turn it on and all the fans and hard drive spin up indicating its on, but nothing comes up on the screen (the light stays amber) the hard drive light is permenantly on. it is not the graphics card as i checked it with a spare, its also not the psu as i checked it with a spare, im pretty sure that its not the hard drive as no bios is comming up on screen.

does anyone known what the problem could be?

Nope. Wrong. Could be RAM also. Take out one stick at a time, then vice versa.

UPDATE

Ihave unplugged all ide drives and floppy and sata.

I have tried swapping the ram around and useing them individually. there are no beeps from the comp when turned on and keyboard lights only illuminate briefly when i turn on the psu.

Any further ideas?

EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!!!

I swithced mobos(three diffrent ones), gpus(6 diffrent ones in a total of 5 pci-16xslots), ram(4.5 gigs worth)psu(x2) hdd(x2) and 2 monitors. see my

Try to clear CMOS in BIOS. On motherboard, near the battery for BIOS memory there is small jumper. Switch it in another contacts: from III to III and turn on computer. Then switch jumper back and try to start comp.
