I also downloaded an IP Anonymizer, last night... the IP routing was messing with my internet speed and Google. Google was repeatedly asking me to verify that I was human with captchas...sending me to random language setups...or just plain not working.

I was suspect and ran full scans with MBAM, Avast, and SuperAntiSpyware...found only 6 Ad tracking cookies
The Trojan attempted to activate before either scanner actually had a chance to detect it.

The computer was restarted once, earlier that day...but I don't think that matters as I run a Dual BIOS that is Mac based(or maybe UNIX, not sure...bought the computer, don't know everything about comps), but I know that XP is cracked...not very well either if there is still an identifier file that pops up as Istolewindows.exe Trojan in SAS...lol but that moot point

ummm....I ended the process...haven't seen it since...uninstalled the proxy generator as there was a Registry error that RegMechanic refused to fix...I didn't like that. CCCleaner didn't detect the change at all...which I'm used to RM tends to find 1 more error in the deep scan than CC.
i couldn't find any other mentions of this exe...anywhere...I qaudruple checked the letters.
I looks like a Reg code...that's why its kind of alarming to me...no info on it at all.
Other than the cookies, my system is clean.

This is a current HiJack log...I never got around to doing one last night...So maybe the problem is solved and will forever remain a mystery? or maybe there are still remnants of whatever this was. Could someone break down the basics on how to understand hijack this?

Just looked up info on the Sality virus...looks a little nasty...how can we tell if code in any exe's have been affected. I had a computer that got attacked awhile back...was cleaning it out(that's how I started learning how to take care of a comp...trial and error) Running MBAM and SAS day in and day out...removing thousands of threats...slowly regaining control over my computer when BAM every exe down to the partition became infected...my computer deleted itself. Avast was reading itself as a virus...i think it was a Sality maybe not...definitely was in the Win32 family that started it...nasty
Thankyou

on another note...My brother was using the same type of pen drive UB(?) Cruzer...that possibly played a roll in my last computer going haywire...and with another look into this virus...I'm fairly certain it is the same that I got attacked by a few years ago...I'm hoping i dodged a bullet on this one...praying that nothing got infected...everything seems a ok at the moment...but it wasn't a fun experience

I have a feeling you have a pirated version of the operating system installed. Please go here and press on the validate windows button and then post a screen shot of the results.

http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/default.aspx?displaylang=en

On a sidenote, it seems that the flashdrive may have an infection on it. You would want to plug it in and scan it using a fully updated antivirus/malware program.

My XP is cracked...I bought the computer. Would contacting Microsoft cause me any problems?

The flashdrive did contain the one Salility virus...the only problem I've had since finding it is that my internet on neither my comp or xbox was working...but that may be unrelated...i've done several scans...all clean...here's a more current HJ log
As I said my main OS is Leopard, although the guy I bought this from said not to update...so that may be cracked as well...

I can't help you as you are running a pirated version of the OS. Please reinstall your OS using genuine software and key.

There is no way to tell if that version of pirated software you have has malware built into it. If you want help then you need to have a genuine product installed.

It most definitely doesn't have any built in viruses...all I'm asking now is if there is anything alarming about my HJ log? other than that some of my files are missing...and that I'm not running real windows. Does anyone know if it currently safe to restart my computer? Are there any errors that I should fix through HJ?

Oh and just so you know...all of the missing files are still running processes on my computer...

I'm sorry but no one can help you since you have a pirated version installed. It's against forum rules. Many forums won't help you once they find out you have a nongenuine operating system installed.

I understand that this "forum" won't help me, but are there any "people" that would be willing to help? PM me if so please...I just need to make sure no remnants of the virus were left over in any random code. Please and thankyou
