unknown reasons for computer crashes

first of all i want to say thank you for all who'll give their responses to this thread,..thanks in advance,..

now here's the problem,..my computer randomly crashes at some point of using it,..it crashes from different kinds of application so i can't figure out what can cause this,.lately it became more often to happen,..and then the microsoft send me a reply to what can possibly it it,.im sorry i don't have a copy of the first letter that was given to me,..but microsoft link me to this page,..

it is about microsoft online crash analysis,..the first letter tells me to have a windows memory diagnostic,..it tells that one of the possible reason is a failing ram,..i need a more clearer interpretation on this if possible how to solve it and identify the real cause,..

What is your Configuration and try a virus scan using quickheal trial version

You can download Memtest (from http://www.memtest.org/), burn this to CD and then boot to that CD and let it run the tests for at least 30 minutes.

How many errors do you get? Doug.

If the crashes are intermittent and don't follow any pattern relative to the software you are running, then the problem is hardware. Start with basic troubleshooting.

when i've done the windows memory diagnostic tool,..no errors had been found,..that,s why i am confused,..
