Update Fried My Laptop BIOS

A recent Flash BIOS update fried my Dell Inspiron 1000 BIOS (blank screen on power-up). Tried removing the CMOS battery. I do not want to pay $300 for a new motherboard, so I'm looking for some info on how to manually reflash the BIOS, or should I just shell out some extra cash and pay a repair shop a visit?

all you gotta do is get the chip outta the motherboard and switch it with another computers chip after it boots up, then flash it with winflash with the corrent bios and replace it.

This happened to me right when i built my new computer, lol....

search the internet and theres a guide somewhere how to do it with pics
