update my Graphics Card

Well i just go a second hand computer, and want to update the graphics card so i can play current games like cyris 2 and witcher 2 smoothly and hopefully with full settings.

my specs ATM are:

- AMD Phenon II x4 B55 Processor 3.20Ghz
- 3 Gb Ram
- NVIDIA GeForce GT 220
- Asus M4A78LT-M-LE AM3 moutherboard

I only really want to spend about $200......please help me!
 
Hi,

You will need to tell us what Power supply that system has for us to determine if it is good enough for a better card of if you will also be needing a new Power supply.
 
just gonna fire off some ATI suggestions:
5770: around $120
6850: around $150 i think
6870: a little more than 6850

They're all really good cards, I would recommend the 5770 as I have one and it can run everything on full details and resolution. But yeah, we need to know the power supply. I think that most of them are recommended for 450 watts total power.
 
with me id recommend the GTX460 for bang for your buck, but yea, we need to know the power supply, that will determine this whole deal
 
Recommended by most low to mid cards is 450 watts. Some trusted brands are XFX, Seasonic, or Corsair. There are other brands that are just as good, you just need to read around on reviews and stuff like that.
 
^I wound not trust that link. It has the GTX 470, 480, 570, 580 above the GTX 590 and 6990. Which they obviously are not.

Looking around I see that the 6870 will give better performance in a lot of games. So unless you need Physx for some of the games that you play, I would go for the 6870.

What is your price range?
