I think it could be good to update the stickie...

First:

Instructions.

Here is my suggestion for what to change in the HJT stickie:

How to Post a Hijackthis Log:
  • Click here to download HijackThis Installer
  • Save HijackThis Installer to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HijackThis Installer icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Post your HJT log in a new thread.

The link in the sticky is, and has always been, to the latest version :confused:

I don't recall anyone having a problem with the current instructions, in fact, the link is for the executable file that downloads straight to the desktop, apart from that, your instructions are pretty much what's in the sticky already.
 
Just a suggestion, makes it easier for users to get it right...

If you don't want to change it, I don't mind :P lol.

As for the updated HJT, how come when everyone posts their HJT, it's v1.99? :confused:
 
Lol, maybe you should make a second stciky that says " How to get a Hijackthis log" or something that will make them read lol :D. Essential reads sounds like rules and no one reads rules :P:D
