ok, soo quick question, would updating my bios to the newest version make it possible for the bios to read my hdds that it didnt read before??

I doubt it unless its a really old board and it didn't like large hard drives, or are you talking about the board in your signature? What motherboard do you have?

its the one in my sig, nforce 780i, i have a 500gb seagate, that worked great then one day windows and even my bios wouldnt detect it. so i bought another hdd and same thing! lol

Bios Update:

CD/DVD Installation - Recommended installation method
Download the following .iso file: NF78_P08.iso
Use a CD Burning software to burn the .iso image onto a blank CD (Nero, Alochol 120%, MagicISO etc.)

Restart machine, and set the CD Drive as the primary boot device.
The BIOS flash process will begin, Press “Y” to program BIOS.

After flash remove the CD, power off PC Completely.
Turn on the PC and load defaults in BIOS.

Windows Installation - Alternate installation method
Before updating your BIOS, please load BIOS defaults by hitting the delete key during POST and select: “Load Defaults.” Now select “Save & Exit Setup.” After that has been completed please follow these instructions:
Download nForce System Tools and NF78_P08.bin

Install nForce System Tools Suite and run the NVIDIA Update Utility

Once Update Center opens, Check the box “Clear CMOS” and then hit apply at the bottom right hand corner
Now select browse and locate NF78_P08.bin

Select load bios

After update center finishes, completely shutdown your system
Once the system is off, unplug your PSU and press the power button on the front of your case. (This will discharge the Motherboard.)

Wait 30-60 seconds to turn on or plug in your PSU and start up your system.
Press "Delete" to once again enter the BIOS, and load defaults. Save and exit; your system BIOS is now updated.
