Updating Bios

Hey Guys, I'd really appreciate any help you could give me. I'm not a computer smart guy, but my friend is. He built me a computer on my birthday, back in the end of September. Anyway, since its been built, it has been having BSODS (error 124) while I'm playing games, and watching some youtube vids (particularly vevo youtube vids, and the game TF2, as well as SC2, but not as oftenly)

I tried replacing graphic card, memory, motherboard, and power source. Still haven't solved the problem, as the BSOD has persisted. I don't think its a hard drive problem, because I hear if it was hard drive it would worsen over time, it hasn't worsen or gotten any better. I also believe I ran DFT and it passed.

Anyway, I'd love to update Bios since I hear that may solve the problem. But I'm not sure how to. I'm thinking Bios is something to do with motherboard correct? I've been on the asus website and tried to figure out where to find the bios update but it was too confusing, couldn't figure it out :(.

My motherboard is an Asus M487TD/USB3

I have the box if you need to know anymore information, can you help me find the Bios for that motherboard? Thanks for any help guys!

I don't have time right now because im leaving. One thing though. Read what the update will do. If it won't fix your problem i suggest don't do it. It will shut down. I would not do it because its there.

Download and run this then click on the mainboard tab and your bios verion will be there.

Then go to the mb manufacturer's site and see if there's an update that addresses your issue. Check all bios updates that have been released since the version you have. If any of those newer releases have a fix for your issue, the newest will comtain it. But it may be best to just use the update that has your fix, and not all of the ones contained in the latest, as you may not need and there is risk to updating bios. If there's no release that fixes an issue you have, then best to do nothing.

If you were already having the problem. Then changed the motherboard and still having the same problem. Its not your bios!
