Updating issues on lenovo

Having issues with my lenovo t420... i have updated like nuts the last day or so thinking i fixed the problem.

It isnt allowing to download an install anything. I click on the download an it doesnt give me the option to run the application. It says open instead an when i click it it says download failed. .. another issue is my updating. Im trying to download the fall creators ver 1709. Its ive restarted 4 or 5 times like it says i should but it isnt working... what do i do?

Do you have a firewall, or antivirus? It may be stopping the download.

Not sure.. i just bought this unit. Firewall is on.

Bought new from the store or used from someone?

It was refurb from walmart. I fixed it. Ditched Microsoft edge an just used reg internet explorer. Its all good

Your internet browser shouldn't be remotely related to Windows updates failing?
