updating video driver

i downloaded a video driver for my x800 gto the version is 6.12 and it was posted on december 13th 06 but my current one is version 6.14 but it was made on august 3rd 06. is 6.12 newer?. also when i try to install 6.12 it says i need directx 8.0 and then it aborts. i mean wtf? direct x8.0 is really old aint it? plz help

What direct x do you have? You should have direct x 9.0c(the latest one).

if everything is working ok wait untill the next update and leave the driver you have alone till then
