Upgrade Advice?

I currently have a 4870, a q6600,asus g31 mobo, antec earthwatts 500w PSU, and gskill DDR2 memory. I am looking for a not extremely expensive upgrade in order to play BF3 and notice increased pc speeds. (monitor is 1440x900). should i keep the cpu and get a new mobo, or get something like the 2500k, probably a better case because of cooling, and a new video card?
 
you woont need a new motherboard. The Q6600 is still a good CPU. It is on a dead socket though. Upgrading it is totally up to you. if you want to, thats good, but its not necessary.
 
so what do you recommend, overclocking the cpu with like a hyper 212 to cool it and a case? i love the obsidion 650d but its very expensive..
 
youll have to ask someone else if you want to OC. I have only tried OCing once and I ended up burning out the CPU and several capacitors on the Mobo.

To play BF3 you will need a new GPU. A 5770, 5870, or 6850 or newer (or Nvidia equal.)
