Upgrade compatability

Hi Guys,

Hoping for a little bit of help if you can so I don't end up buying the wrong system....

Sadly, I can no longer tolerate my P3 1000Mhz beast with 128MB RAM and it's time to upgrade it into something a little less "frustrating"!

I've selected the following components and I'd like to make absolutely sure they all work together:

A few other questions I had were:

1) I really need at least one USB port for my modem/router. Does that setup allow for one? And include everything I need?

2) Would you recommend a graphics card for me please that will play current games well and be a little future-proof? I have a budget of £200-250 and would like 256MB on board and preferably at the lower end of that price.

3) Have I got enough power with that case?

If anyone can help with that, I'd be really really grateful.

Thanks!

do you mean u have a 250 budget for the gpu if you do i would recomend a geforce 7800 gt like msi and xfx if you do whish to get thos cards you would need a better psu i wouldnt buy the ram you selected if you go to www.scan.co.uk you can get much better ram for that price and if you want value ram you can get corsairs value ram which is much better and cheeper

Thank super - I have £200-250 for the graphics card although, like I say, I'd rather it was nearer £200!

How's the compatibility of everything else? Does the CPU work with the mobo etc?

you would actually be glad you spent that extra 50 quid on a 7800 gt as it is verry good with the latest games teh mobo you selected does support your cpu but you are limited to pc 3200 ram on that mobo if you wanted to upgrade later you wouldnt be able to install ram like ddr2 ect which is well worth the extra quid if you look around you will prob find one for the same price

Thanks. I don't think there's an AGP version of that card. Should I look at changing the mobo to a PCI-E version?

Also, does that motherboard come with USB adapters or am I going to have to buy something else as well?
