Upgrade from Spphire x1900xtx to ?

After three years of using this card it finally start to act up with artifacts. When I startup counterstrike source or BF2 it works for 10-30mins later it starts up with little artifacts later more and freezes my pc. Videocard idle temp 50C and gaming temp around 65C-70C the most.

I think its time to upgrade here. I mostly play css/bf2. What is good videocard for those two games? And a good upgrade from x1900xtx?

oh yea budget under 300.00USD So any videocard that would be a overkill for css and bf2. I realize the new videocards are 2.0 pci express now days. So will a video card that needs a PCI Express 2.0 slot work my mobo that has PCI Express x 16 slots? Also I still use Windows xp pro not vista.
