Upgrade GPU

I might want to look into upgrading my two 8800GTs to something more powerful. I don't have a set budget, but no more than $500, and I guess the cheapest for the best performance is best, since I'll probably end up SLIing it later. The reason for this is I'm seeing some nice games come out, like Bad Company 2, and I'd like to run it on High.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

i would go with something dx11. if you are a green team member, wait for the fermi cards... if you are ok with ati and want something soon, go with the hd 5xxx series. with your budget, i would go with the previously mentioned hd 5870. great cards: low power consumption, stay (and look) cool, dx11, eyefinity, and powerful (for proof, go to youtube and look up videos). or save an extra 150 credits and bump up to an hd 5970...

You're very right. Didn't realize for had an nforce board, sorry.

In that case, I'd say stick with what you have till Nvidia's DX11 cards come out.

No problem, and alright, I'll see how these cards do with the games coming out soon. Thanks.

It depends on the particular board. Some do both.

It'd more than likely be with my 750i, but I'll look into other stuff.

Thanks.

Iirc, the 5670 > 4770 and ~4850?

Hmm, I want to look more into it, and see how much better a 5770 would be compared to two 8800GTs..

I researched it a bit, and found out that two 88GTs are better than a GTX 260, and a 260 is a bit lower or tied with a 5770. So what I was thinking of doing, is overclocking my cards as much as possible.. What do you think I could gain from doing so? My CPU needs to be clocked as well, just got my V8 on it.

Thanks.
