I have an old pc and was wanting to upgrade the motherboard, processor, memory, and graphics card.

I dont really care about what is on the hard drive, except for windows os.

and i have some everything picked out online, and seen videos on building a computer, but if i am replacing everything and windows is already on the hard drive when i put everything together and turn it on what should happen/what do i do?

That is more than an upgrade... lol
You will have to re-install the OS with all the new hardware.
The old OS is set up for the old hardware.

If you want Windows to run correctly with your new hardware you should(after putting the new hardware in your PC) reformat your hard drive and reinstall Windows. This ensures that Windows is setup and works properly with your new hardware.

In less the Windows came with the computer and you did not buy Windows separately.
Do you have the disk for Windows? If not you might also have to buy a new copy for it.

I would just build a new computer with a newer kit.. Your Windows will not work with a new Motherboard, your drivers will be all different..
