Upgrade or leave it alone ?

Right now I have 2 XFX 8600GT "s powered by a Antec Neopower 650 watt psu. If I upgrade to the 8800GTS or 8800GT would I need to change my PSU? I know that Nvidia is coming out with some new cards and I hoping the price will drop on some of the 8800. Last question , would I be better off to sell my 8600Gt's and buy one good 8800? If so which 8800 would be best? Thanks for your help.

I don't think you would need to change your PSU if you decide to use 8800GTS.

Having a single 8800 will still outperform the dual 8600 in SLI so your are definitely better off using a good single 8800. The 8800 now is the 8800Ultra but not sure whether your PSU would be strong enough to power it. It might be possible if its just a single card. An alternative is the 8800GTX and your PSU will definitely be able to power it.

If you are talking about comparing the 8800GT and 8800GTS only, then I would say the 8800GTS would be better.

I'm thinking mainly between the 8800GT and 8800GTS. Is it worth the money to get the 640mb over the 320mb GTS?

I have been reading most of the post about the 8800GT's and how they will out perform the 8800 GTS. Is this because of a new design , I thought according to the way Nvidia has always number their cards that the GT was a lower end card.

You can either wait for the 8800GT or if you don't want to wait, get an 8800GTS 640 mb. The reason I say this, is due to you having a 22" monitor, meaning that the 640 MB will give you more gaming power at those higher resolutions.

NO you should wait a while because the rumors are nvidia are making some changes in 8800GTS.So it would be good for you if you wait.
