Upgrade or not to upgrade?

I was thinking about changing my motherboard to LGA1155 H61 MSI H61M-P23 http://www.amazon.com/MSI-LGA1155-B3-Motherboard-H61M-P23/dp/B004RPNM86/
My processor to Intel® Core™ i3-2100 http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i3-2100-Processor-3-1GHz-LGA1155/dp/B004JEVGMO/
I only have 2 gb ddr2 ram and to get 2 gb more is more expensive than getting 4gb ddr3. but to do that i have to change my motherboard to newer model so as my socket.
My graphic card has 1gb gddr3 rest is on the picture.

Why are you thinking of upgrading? Any specific games you want to play? And what is the make and model of your power supply? Budget? Is this a prebuilt machine?

And if you get the 1155 board, it does not support DDR2. And if you change your motherboard, you'll need a new copy of windows.

At the very least I would upgrade the GPU. Games like BF3 your on the boarder of bare minimum. I am not a fan of MSI, but I hear reports of there quality going up. I lost faith in them when I found out OCing my motherboard resulted in MOBO catching fire.

If you plan to game you will need to upgrade PSU and buy a GPU. But it is a cheep way to get into i3. Bio Star is no differant than the MSI, just different colors. I am in no way saying bio star is better than MSI! I have no opinion either way.
