Upgrade Question

Ok, So got a Precision M90 on the way, and ~180 to work with. Now I would love to keep the price down, so I was looking at http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-V64-N...f=sr_1_61?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1332220673&sr=1-61 to run Vista or XP I am not sure yet, and use my 640GB HDD now into the 2HDD adapter for the media bay. IS this a good plan, or are there more cost efficient ways to do this?

And BTW, I am not looking for speed, I am looking for battery life.

If you're looking for battery life, then go complete SSD and skip the other HDD.

I don't think I was clear there. The media bay HDD will only be in when I need something off of it. pretty much going to be using it as a 640GB flashkey. That is assuming I could dump the 2000, XP, Vista, and Ubuntu partitions from it and expand the data partition to fill it up.

I got a media bay battery with the M90, so that will be there more than anything.

Okay then yeah it should be fine. Since you're only looking for battery life and not speed Vista should work just fine with all the necessary tweaks to the machine.
