upgrade question

my computer has the duel channel memory feature and i currently have 1 stick of 512mb installed i want to increase my memory by 1 gig and i was wondering if i should just go with a 1g stick or 2 512mb sticks to use take advantage of the duel channel ?

umm well u just want one gig? if so i say get another 512 and run in dual, the increase is pretty good as i just tested 1 gig in dual to 1.5 gig in single, and the dual outperformed the 1.5 gig with about a 10 fps lead on valve stress test.
 
If you dont plan on upgrading to 2GB anytime soon, then yes, i would buy another 512MB stick for dual-channel.
