I have 2x512MB and 1x256MB DDR400 PC3200 ram. It is the cheapest ram that i could find on newegg and i was wondering if i should upgrade to a 1x 1GB PC3200 with the ECC, Registered, and Low Latency ($145). Do you think i should do this or stick with what i have? which is non ECC, not registered, and has a cas latency of 3.

i never read it yet, but i was under the impression that it was better, i'll read it right now, thanks.

But the question sill remains, should i upgrade to a 1gb stick of ram that is registered and is low cas latency?

Yes. However, make sure that the current ram is also capable of those latencies and so on as to make sure that the new RAM (supposing you use it with the old) is running at full potential and not be downgraded due to the limitations of the old RAM.

actually, i would replace the old ram with this new ram, and im not going to do it anytime soon, just wanted to hear peoples oppionion on the subject.
